Light by BRDFΒΆ

The lights color can be different in the diffuse and specular BRDF.

Light only the diffuse BRDF

By default, the lights belong to the Diffuse, Reflection and Refraction sets, so they illuminate the diffuse, specular and refraction BRDFs of the objects. With only the Diffuse set, the light illuminates only the diffuse BRDFs of the object's shader.

The light Set attribute is set to Diffuse,Reflection and Diffuse.

  1. Select the light to modify.
  2. Remove the Reflection set from the Linking > Set light attribute.
Light only the specular BRDF

By default, the lights belong to the Diffuse, Reflection and Refraction sets, so they illuminate the diffuse, specular and refraction BRDFs of the objects. With only the Reflection set, the light illuminates only the specular BRDFs of the object's shader.

The light Set attribute is set to Diffuse,Reflection and Reflection.

  1. Select the light to modify.
  2. Remove the Diffuse set from the Linking > Set light attribute.
Modify the light color by BRDF

By default, the light color is the same in all the BRDFs. You can specify a different light color for the diffuse and specular BRDFs.

The light is white in any BRDF, blue in the diffuse BRDFs and red in the specular BRDFs.

  1. Select the light to modify.
  2. Tweak the Dynamic Attributes > Diffuse or the Dynamic Attributes > Specular attributes.

Using grey colors, you can use this technique to reduce the light intensity in a specific BRDF.
